DC01 is the most basic cold-rolled low-carbon steel grade defined in the European standard (EN 10130), and its status is equivalent to the Chinese standard SPCC or the Japanese standard SPHC. It does not have excellent deep drawing performance, but with its good formability, stable quality, and economical cost, it has become one of the most widely used basic materials in automotive manufacturing, commonly used to manufacture various non load bearing structural components and coverings.
Balanced mechanical properties: DC01 has moderate mechanical properties, with yield strength typically between 140~280 MPa, tensile strength between 270~410 MPa, and elongation (A80mm) typically ≥ 22%. This ensures that it has sufficient plasticity to meet basic cold forming requirements such as bending, shallow stamping, and flanging.
Good processability and surface quality: It is easy to cut, weld, and form, with mature production processes and stable performance. Its surface quality is usually divided into FB (ordinary grade) and FC (higher grade). FC has a smoother and smoother surface, making it suitable as a substrate for subsequent surface treatments such as electrophoresis and spraying.
Economy: As the most basic cold-rolled grade, DC01 has the most advantageous production cost and is the preferred material for projects that pursue cost-effectiveness.
DC01 is mainly used in automobiles for parts with simple shapes, no or minimal stress, and low requirements for material formability:
Various internal structural components and brackets, such as brackets for electrical control units (ECUs), wire harness fixing brackets, and support frames for various interior panels.
Covering parts and protective panels: such as the protective panel under the seat, some dust covers in the engine compartment, decorative covers in the luggage compartment, etc.
Non critical structural components: such as door lock reinforcement plates, some mounting bases, etc.
In summary, DC01 is an "economical and practical" player in cold-rolled steel plates. It forms a solid foundation for the manufacturing of non critical automotive components with its reliable performance, high cost-effectiveness, and wide availability, and is an indispensable staple in the automotive industry production.
